Overview
Cao Lanh is the capital city of Dong Thap province. It is also one of the centers of the Plain of Reeds, which can be seen as the fulcrum and logistical basis for the sustainable development of one of the six major economic regions of the Mekong Delta.
From An Huu to Cao Lanh City, you will see the Xeo Quyt vestige in My Long and My Hiep communes with an area of 50 hectares, of which 20 hectares is Melaleuca forest. Formerly was a military base from 1960 to 1975 of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee in the American war, today Xeo Quyt is a famous tourist attraction. The bomb shelters, L-shaped personal underground tunnels or Z-shaped combat of the revolutionary forces were completely restored. The ecological environment is also diverse with more than 170 species of plants and 200 species of wildlife including 13 species recorded in the Red Book of Vietnam.
Nguyen Sinh Sac Temple on Pham Huu Lau street is another famous spot in Cao Lanh. The scenery here brings you a sense of relaxation with hundreds of fruits, flowers and rare plants donated by local people and neighboring provinces.
The best time to visit Cao Lanh is from June to August.
