Overview
Khanh Hoa is a coastal province in South Central Vietnam, bordering Phu Yen province to the north, Dak Lak province to the northwest, Lam Dong province to the southwest, Ninh Thuan province to the south, and the South China Sea to the east. Khanh Hoa today is the old land of Kauthara in the Kingdom of Champa.
Khanh Hoa now includes 2 provincial cities including Nha Trang and Cam Ranh with a total area of 5217.6 km². A part of Truong Sa archipelago (Truong Sa district) is under the management of Khanh Hoa province.
Khanh Hoa is one of the major tourist centers of Vietnam. Thanks to the 200-km-long coastline, nearly 200 large and small islands with many beautiful bays like Van Phong, Nha Trang (one of the 12 most beautiful bays in the world), Cam Ranh, etc, a mild climate with an average temperature of 26 °C, many cultural, historical sites, and scenic spots, services - tourism is the most developed industry in Khanh Hoa. The forms of tourism in Khanh Hoa are plentiful with forms such as ecotourism on islands, sightseeing tourism, cultural tourism, etc. Nha Trang has become the destination of many great events of Vietnam and the world such as Miss Vietnam, Miss Universe 2008, Miss Earth 2010, etc with the Sea Festival (Nha Trang).
